Overview

Encouraging Growth...One Person at a Time

DSC offers many ways in which you can help us further our mission, "to enhance the lives of individuals with disabilities by providing services and supports which enable them to live, work, learn and participate in their communities."

For some, the best way to contribute is through becoming a volunteer. DSC offers volunteer opportunities for individuals or groups who choose to volunteer just one time, as well as for those who want to volunteer on a regular basis. Simply follow the "Get Involved" link for more information.

Others who are interested in lending a helping hand prefer to do so through financial donations. If you would like more information on how your contribution can make a difference in the lives of the individuals receiving services, please follow the "Donate" or "Wish List" links for more information.

Almost all of our supporters are interested in helping through advocacy, and your support is both greatly needed and greatly appreciated in our efforts to urge our local and state legislators to, "DO THE RIGHT THING", and "PUT PEOPLE FIRST". To learn more about our advocacy efforts, please check the links to "Advocacy" and check the "Events Calendar".

Many people prefer a combination of ways to help, so please enjoy visiting all the links in this section, as you get to know more of "What You Can Do".

If you are unable to find the answers to your questions, please feel free to contact Janice McAteer, Director of Development at 217.356.9176 or jmcateer@dsc-illinois.org.

Together, we strongly believe that we have the ability to make a significant difference in the lives of children and adults with developmental disabilities. DSC provides services to approximately 1,300 people annually and we do it one person at a time! Thank you for your support and belief in our efforts!!
